This past Thursday I found out my cousin passed away; it is sad because she was the first cousin from my generation to leave this world. I thought she still had more time...😥 I was planning to celebrate St. Patrick's Day the next day by cooking a delicious, Irish dish ☘ I was sad, angry, and experiencing a lot of emotions that night. I decided to stay up all night and cook, I find cooking to be therapeutic for me when I'm experiencing grief. The next day, I went to sleep for a couple of hours and when I woke up and opened my bedroom's window, I was surprised to see the first Spring flower greeting me 🌼 She had a beautiful, bright, yellow color that stood out from the rest of the dried up, barren-looking trees and soil 💛 Winter was not quite over, there was still five days until the Spring Equinox. But I remembered that this beautiful, bright flower is one of the first ones to appear days before the Spring Equinox, announcing that Spring is coming and Winter is almost over. It's called a daffodil also known as Narcissus. In England, they're called "lent lilies" because of their long association with Lent. Daffodils symbolize rebirth and new beginnings. They're a positive, life-affirming symbol, with a bright and joyful yellow color 💛 Daffodils are strong, resilient flowers that bloom in early Spring. They're such an early bloomer in February and March that the cold weather almost seems to keep them growing low to the ground. This flower reminds me of my cousin, who despite her long battle with a disease, she remained strong and resilient. Perhaps this daffodil was my cousin, greeting me and reminding me to continue joyful and hopeful no matter what. Perhaps it was her, embodying this bright, yellow daffodil who showed up in my garden straight through my window, to make sure I saw her and came here to brighten my day because it was looking so gray and sad without her. From now on, daffodils will remind me of my cousin 🌼 May you rest in peace Ceci, you will not be forgotten.🙏🏼❤ #thepointofconvergence #lapotosinawrites #potosinablogger #grief #grieving #thewomeninmyfamily #springflowers #daffodils #narcissus #rebirth #newbeginnings #inmemoriam #hope #lent

I have been searching for some good Mexican tacos in the DMV area for the last 15 years! I think I finally found a real #mexicantaqueria in Virginia. It is called Tacos El Costalilla. Check it out, I highly recommend it! 👍🏼 The carne asada and al pastor are the best, the birria tacos are also worth trying, even the chicken tacos for those who don't like spicy foods are delicious! So excited I finally found a good taqueria mexicana 🤤🔥🇲🇽 #thepointofconvergence #lapotosinawrites #potosinablogger #mexicantacos #authentictacos #foodie #foodiesofinstagram #virginiafoodies #dmvmexicanfood #tacosmexicanos #jarritos #DMVtacos
I stand against violence and abuse of women and girls, I dream of a day when ALL women and girls, regardless of race and color can speak up and stand up and share their story of abuse.💜 Too many marginalized girls and women stay silent and feel like they cannot speak up like the rest of other women.💜
Luck o' the Irish Chocolate Cupcakes ☘💚 We put some golden foil chocolate coins 💰 and rainbow 🌈 sprinkles to make it fun for the kids! #thepointofconvergence #lapotosinawrites #potosinablogger #stpatricksday #stpaddysday #saintpatricksdaycupcakes #stpatricksdaychocolate #stpaddysdaycupcakes #luckoftheirish #chocolatecupcakes #stpaddysdaycelebration #ilovegreen #potofgold #luckotheirish
